Review FAQs

I will send you an email to let you know that I have added your book to my review queue.

I will read your entire book. If for some reason I am unable to finish, I will let you know.

Please respect that this process takes some time.

If I begin your book and then realise it is not something I enjoy, I will let you know.

If your book earns less than 3 stars in my review process I will not share the story review on my website, Amazon, and Goodreads unless you specifically ask me to. However, it is rare that I accept a book for review and then rate it less than three stars.

After finishing and posting my review of your story to my blog, Amazon, and Goodreads– I will send you the following:

An image for you to use on your own social media accounts to promote the review.

Yes! I will email you if I accept your book for review and I will email you if I decide to decline.
I will email you to let you know.

Depending on why I have declined to review your book I may offer some feedback to you– but in most cases I will decline because of time restraints or because your story genre is something I do not wish to read at this time.

I will get back to everyone eventually. Please understand that I receive a large volume of emails and have limited time each day to sort through and reply to all of them.

I will get back to you to let you know if I am accepting or declining your story, please do not send a follow up email.

It depends on how much time I have that week, how long your story is, and how many other stories are in front of yours in the queue.

When I begin your book, I will strive to read it within a week and post a review the following week. However, this is subject to my schedule restraints.

*If* you have a very special circumstance and NEED a review by a specific date (for your book cover, media release, etc.) please mention it during submission. It’s possible we can work something out, depending on the time frame.

No. I am not paid for any reviews and do not accept payment for comments or reviews of any kind.
I post all of my reviews on my blog.

I will post a link to Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and Facebook promoting the review of your story when it goes live. A link to the review will also be sent out to my mailing list.

You will also be sent a post to share on your own social media to promote the review to your friends, family, and followers.

I exclusively post my review on my blog, Amazon, and Goodreads. If you would like me to post the review somewhere different or special, please note it during your submission.

Depending on how long your book is and how many books I have to review ahead of yours, the review process takes a fairly large amount of time.

If I accepted your book for review but you haven’t heard back from me yet, then please be patient. Do not feel the need to send a follow up email.

If your story sounds interesting, I will more than likely add it to my review queue.

Genres I am particularly fond of such as Fantasy, Paranormal Romance, and Sci-Fi will receive a preference, but I am a lover of all genres.

I will decline your story if:

  • It is overtly sexual for no reason
  • You over-use swear words for no apparent reason
  • It glorifies racisim, sexisim, animal abuse, or sexual abuse.
  • The grammar and spelling is below standard.
  • I do not find it interesting / exciting enough to continue reading past the first chapter.
I will decline your story if:

  • It is overtly sexual for no reason
  • The swearing is off the scale for seemingly no reason
  • It glorifies racisim, sexisim, animal abuse, or sexual abuse.
  • The grammar and spelling is below standard.
  • I do not find it interesting / exciting enough to continue reading past the first chapter.
No. While I prefer to review self-published authors, I’m happy to accept reviews requests from publishers as well.
Requesting a review and having it shared is an excellent way to gain more readers and exposure for your book.

Reviews are also a fantastic way to gain useful feedback on your story and writing style, allowing you to improve as an author.

Of Flesh and Fire | Part One

By Tuesday Cross

If you enjoy magic, werewolves, vampires, and DRAGONS…. you’ll enjoy this story.
Available Now!

What is the meaning to life, the universe, and everything?

Now that we’ve covered that, let’s get down to business. Tuesday Cross is … Actually this third person thing is getting tiring, how about I stop pretending I have an assistant who writes this stuff for me and I just write it how I’m thinking it 😉
I constantly get asked “Tuesday, why do you write?”. I would tell you that it’s because of my ‘passion for the written word’ , but really it’s more than that. Passion is a flash-in-the-pan sort of emotion. It fuels us the start, however on those lonely nights bereft of inspiration, where does passion get us? Into bed to try again the next day. Nope, it’s not my passion that drives me to writ. It is the overwhelming cocktail of excitement, imagination, and sense of duty I feel which pushes me to put pen to paper (or more accurately, fingers to keyboard.) Sense of duty? What the heck do I mean by that?

Let me tell you a story. I was born with a book in my hand (just ask my Mum.) I could not be separated from those precious pages, and through the years I soaked in thousands upon thousands of worlds, created by people who had seen and done much more than myself. Reading changed (and saved) my life in many ways, and I am indebted to the authors who did this.
Writing is like a superpower, if you can write, it’s almost a crime to lock it away. If your imagination is brimming with plots, twists, creatures, and adventures untold, how can you keep that to yourself? I know I can’t! You literally have the power to transform someone’s life, even if only for the duration of your book. Transport them to different realms, allow them to live outside our reality. How cool is that?

I began writing stories on Episode Interactive a few years ago. At first I told myself I was just there to read, however by the end of the first week I was already planning out the storyline which would become ‘Of Flesh and Fire’, my first story on the platform. Episode is unique in the way it brings your story off of the pages, you are essentially writing a screenplay and this appealed to my film-school background. After the overwhelmingly positive response to ‘Of Flesh and Fire’ on the Episode Interactive App, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work on the manuscript. Now, a year later, I’m excited to announce that ‘Of Flesh and Fire’ is expected to be published in November 2017.

Well, if you read all of this, you deserve a cookie. If I ever meet you in real life, use the code word ‘Jargon’, and I’ll make sure you get that cookie 😉
